Weixiang Achieves Full F12–F220 Production of Bonded Abrasives Grain
Luoyang Weixiang Abrasives Co., Ltd. has completed stable mass-production delivery of consolidated abrasives-grade abrasive grain across the full F12 to F220 grit range. Leveraging its crushing-and-shaping, precision classification and full-process physical-chemical testing capabilities, the company controls grit sizing in accordance with GB/T 2481.1 and its internal control standards. Each batch is tested for the five grain fractions—ultra-coarse, coarse, basic, mixed and fine—ensuring highly stable grit composition suitable for resin-bonded and vitrified-bonded consolidated abrasives (grinding wheels).
The grinding efficiency, service life and workpiece surface quality of consolidated abrasives are largely determined by abrasive grain size distribution. Conventional abrasive grain is prone to excessive oversized particles, high fine-powder content and insufficient effective basic-grain proportion, which can cause workpiece scratching, wheel edge chipping and unstable grinding performance downstream. To address these industry-wide pain points, Luoyang Weixiang has optimized its full crushing, shaping and classification-screening process and established standardized grit inspection and control criteria, covering mainstream consolidated-abrasive F grits including F12, F14, F16, F20, F22, F24, F30, F36, F40, F46, F54, F60, F70, F80, F90, F100, F120, F150, F180 and F220.

At each grit grade, the following indicators are controlled:
-
Ultra-coarse grains: zero oversize on the specified sieve—i.e., 100% passing the designated sieve—strictly limiting oversized particles to avoid scratching workpieces;
-
Coarse grains: the proportion of particles retained on the specified sieve is controlled per standard to preserve sharp cutting edges;
-
Basic grains: the core effective grinding fraction, with its proportion guaranteed as it directly affects grinding efficiency;
-
Mixed grains: cross-sieve particle proportion is controlled to balance bond density and pore structure in consolidated abrasives;
-
Fine grains: fine content is controlled per the corresponding grit standard, with fine-grain limits for fine grits such as F180 and F220 relaxed to ≤10% per standard, reducing the risk of sintering cracks and strength loss in finished wheels.
Note: Grit inspection is carried out batch-by-batch against GB/T 2481.1 and internal control standards, and sieve-analysis test reports can be supplied with shipments.
This consolidated abrasives-grade grain is widely used in flat wheels, cut-off wheels, cup wheels and heavy-duty snagging wheels, suitable for rough and semi-finish grinding of steel, alloy steel and cast iron, and is supplied in bulk to abrasive manufacturers at home and abroad. Whether for heavy-duty rough grinding with coarse grits F12–F30 or semi-finish grinding with medium-to-fine grits F40–F220, batch-to-batch grit consistency helps downstream manufacturers reduce raw-material debugging and process trial-and-error costs.
"Stability of abrasive grain size distribution is the first checkpoint in high-end consolidated abrasives production—many finished-product quality issues trace back to out-of-control grain sizing," said the technical director of Luoyang Weixiang Abrasives. "We have built key indicators such as ultra-coarse, basic and fine grain into the entire production flow, helping wheel customers improve finished-product qualification rates from the raw-material source."
F12–F220 consolidated abrasives-grade grain is now held in regular stock, with support for bulk orders and customer sample testing, and complete original grit test data available on request. Abrasive manufacturers worldwide are welcome to inquire and request samples and technical data sheets.

In industrial surface treatment, the selection of blasting abrasives directly affects processing efficiency, surface quality, and overall cost. Brown Fused Alumina, White Fused Alumina, and Black Fused Alumina are three commonly used corundum-type abrasives. Due to differences in smelting raw materials and processes, they exhibit significant variations in chemical purity, physical properties, and application scenarios. Based on technical indicators, this article systematically reviews the selection logic of the three.
